Manny L. Birch was born in Bronx, NY in the mid 80’s. He grew up with his grandparents who helped foster a love of reading and writing at a very young age. Manny traveled quite a bit as a teen and young adult most notably to Tokyo where he practiced his Japanese language skills. He attended Ithaca College in upstate New York where his love of dance blossomed into a lucrative part time employment opportunity. He continues to use his love of dance and music to inspire his writing as evidenced by his first series Songs My Father Taught Me, in which music plays a subtle but important role in the events of the series. Some of his favorite authors include J.K Rowling, Laurell K. Hamilton, Edgar Allen Poe and Terry Goodkind.
